I took my little sister to a open day at a sixth form college she hopes to attend next year.

She's just turned 16 and is very intelligent and beautiful. She has a very womanly figure for a girl her age and unfortunately sometimes it attracts the wrong sort of attention.

She still very innocent and good girl but but because of her figure a lot of men tend to sexualize her when she doesn't even understand. I have to be one to protect her as her big sister.

We were walking around the classrooms and the halls and all the boys were stairing at her. She was just wearing a skater dress and boots. She kept going red and shy and asking why boys were looking at her. She thought they were laughing at her and making fun but they weren't and I didn't want to tell her the truth either because I didn't want her to feel even more self conscious of herself.

It got to lunch time and there was some older boys I'd say 18ish years old sitting down whilst we were looking to find a place to sit. They said we could sit with them after stairing my little sister up and down.

I said no thanks and before i knew it another family said "since your offering well sit with you" they boys then walked away from were they were sitting and left before saying bye to my little sister.

I'm very protective of her, especially as she's very innocent compared to the other kids. She prefers reading books and riding her horse over partying and boys. She thinks if boys are showing interest there making fun out of her and usually freaks out.

Because, as you yourself said, she's beautiful and has a very womanly figure. Men aren't sexualizing her; nature did that. The men simply acknowledge it.

And you, with perhaps the best of intentions, are shielding her from the realities of biology- so well that you've apparently inserted yourself into her own head, to judge by the fact that she's reached the age of 16 with so little understanding of sex. She knows. The only way she wouldn't would be if she had some weird medical condition that delayed puberty- in which case she wouldn't be attracting sexual attention.

What she's doing is struggling to realize or admit it- and while it's not a big deal NOW, when it's harmless flirting, it will be ten years down the road, if she doesn't learn how to handle it. Let me.

Sounds like you are a good older sister, it's fine to tell her the basic of what's going on by just saying that they seem interested in her, you can't keep her in the bubble forever, just make sure to tell her the rights and wrongs, keeping her in the bubble too long might be just as harmful, she's growing up and her being clueless isn't good, she should learn to stand her own, mostly with rejection of weirdos and stuff.

Well, I guess it's natural... They saw a pretty girl and tried their luck. Men/boys have approached females like this from the beginning of time. Nothing wrong with that, maybe can be disrespectful if done in the wrong way. Then it's down to the girl of how to respond depending on what she wants and there's nothing wrong with the big sister being protective. It's not always sexual, some guys just see a girl and fall in love... Melt... It's happened to me before. Not for a moment thinking sexually, just saw a girl and fell in love. Love doesn't have to be sexual, it can be pure and innocent.

She’s old enough to understand if you tell her what is going on , on why they are staring and that they are not making fun of her but are attracted to her because of her looks

She will get boy crazy, get pregnant, have 3 kids by 22 years old, become an alcoholic with 20 tattoos, and live in a trailer park no later than 24 years old.

At 16 I was dating 18 year olds, life was great
