Should I keep my word?

Each time I buy gifts for my friend who I’ll call Justin, he always replies that he’s got one that he’s sending me too, then it never arrives. He has a steady job, unlike me. Is he just a tight arse?

If he is, is it ok to break my word about sending gifts to the UK for his birthday? I haven’t bought them yet and it’s going to be expensive for me to post them. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of.

I wouldn’t say you’re wrong. Some people are like that, say they will do this or that but never do. But here’s the thing, are you doing it cause you want to or cause you’re expecting in return? I get that him not sending you something may make you feel bad, but if that’s how he’s always been chances are he will always be that way. I work in the hospital, a lot of shitty patients at times, but you do it cause you have compassion for people even if they may not feel the same toward you. You don’t expect things in return if that is where your heart is truly at as far as being nice to people. Maybe I’m wrong. But that’s up to you. I can see how it would make you feel.

Yeah I was friends with someone that acted that same way. If you want to send someone a gift, send it to someone who really appreciates you for you.
