Is this a commitment?

He bought a house in April and asked me to move in saying he didn’t want a commitment. In my eyes that right there is almost a commitment. Over the month’s we’ve become sexually intimate. Last night he eagerly said “this is OUR place” with a huge smile. I’m not sure if this means he’s committed now. He’s a man with few words when it comes to emotions.

A background on us; We dated for 8 years starting when I was 18 years old. His family and mine had Christmas/Thanksgiving dinners together so we were really tight. He was also my first. Then we broke up this was super painful. I ended up meeting another man whom I ended up marrying for 14 years. The marriage broke down and at that point him and I ended up reconnecting for 6 years we remained friends. Now since moving in it’s become physical. Somewhere in between when I was married I know he had some heart break in another relationship. I feel that we’ve been destined to be together. These things rarely happen. Call it a soulmate or something. I would never entertain the thought of getting back together with an ex.

A house, and asking you to move in is definitely a commitment. Why did you break up in the first place if you don't mind me asking?

You can't help how you feel, and if you guys are naturally drawn to one another, or have a special connection, there's nothing wrong with pursuing that to see where it goes. I would, however, ask him what he means by saying he doesn't want a commitment? Does he mean with you and your relationship? if he does, it's a bit of a contradiction when he wants to to move in with him, unless he just wants something casual.
