This guy is giving me mixed signals and I don't know what to do?

This guy I like (and I think he likes me too) is giving me mixed signals because in some moments were talking and flirting and others he doesn't talk to me at all. We go from playing eye tag to not even saying hi or good morning.

In class he mentioned having an audition so I texted him "Hi (name) I know you have your audition today so break a leg :) and also your fit looked very nice today" and he didn't respond, not even a thank you 🫤... and the next day he didn't say anything about it but one thing that was weird was he came in early, he usually comes in after the bell so that was unusual.

The next week he was back to the same thing staring and smiling at me and he even tried to talk to me but I ignored him (just like he ignored me) which was kinda of mean I know but he couldn't even send 8 letters (thank you) so I just stopped giving him attention, and now he's acting like he likes me again, he was staring at me waiting for me to make eye contact and than smiled like nothing happened, this is extremely confusing for me.

So now I don't know what to do, do I say something to him?, do I leave it alone?

How to be sure this guy likes me?

When a guy likes you he's going to pursue you each and every day whether it's walking out of class down the hallway bumping into you saying hi grabbing a hold of your hand telling you that he'll take you to your next class I mean if a guy likes you he wants to be with you and he's not going to go to the same place as you do the same class say anything or communicate everyday for a week I mean there's no way in this world that would happen I think he should probably just let it go and if he truly likes you you'll have to prove it

I suggest you start fresh with him and tell him it's okay to talk to you, but you don't appreciate it when he doesn't reply to texts and it makes you think he doesn't like you.
