Man, that does make it tougher. I'd say you don't need to remove him from your instagram account, because it's possible he just needs time to process and he could be fine with a completely platonic relationship after. He might unfollow anyways.
As for in class, just be normal around him. If he ignores you, let him. If he wants to talk, that's fine, but make sure you're explicit about there not being a chance of getting together in the future.
