What does it mean if a guy brings you flowers for your birthday but doesn't do anything after?

A few months ago, I (24F) invited everyone in my class to my birthday party. My friend, "Evan" (24M) agreed to come. Don't get me wrong, we are friends, but we're not super close, either. So he gets me a huge bouquet of pink roses. They're easily the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen. That being said, a few months have gone by, and he's done nothing else to indicate interest. We hung out with a couple of other friends tonight, and there was really nothing there to latch onto, in terms of romantic intentions. So I'm just wondering if he's just a very generous gift giver or if there was something more?

Why are you surprised that there are still people that give presents without any lewd intentions behind those presents?

While most guys would expect some kind of physical reward and thank you gesture from the recipient of those gifts, there are other men that are simply doing that gesture without any intentions other than to make the person receiving it happy.

By the way you react, I imagine that you would have expected him to move onto you and to try to get you where you most men would have wanted to. Not him. He is a gentleman and not interested.

It is a good thing that there are still men that behave the way he did. There should be many more that act that way.

Sounds like he was just very generous. Maybe I’m wrong, but other than that you haven’t said much as far as something that would indicate that he likes you. I love flowers myself, I grow them in my garden, different varieties. So I love to give flowers as gifts.
