Do men ever go back to someone they dated in the past? Or is this just something men say?

This guy and I dated for three months (at one point he called me his girlfriend) but things didn't work out between us. There were communication and trust issues. And he ended up breaking up with me he admitted that he had trusts issues. He told me that maybe he and I might cross paths again. He said he needed to find his way in life. Yet for now he wants me to move on and meet another guy that makes me happy. He also said he wouldn't dismiss us being together again later in the future.

I am not going to sit and wait on him as I will meet other men. But I am just curious if this is a possibility or is this just something men say?

Men (and you it seems too) want to keep the backdoor open for fornication in case the new people don't meet the expectations. It seems that people do place an enormous importance on those muscular contractions and spasms and that they dominate the lives of people.

Yes, men (and women) will go back to an ex when all else fails because they can't seem to be able to live without that copulating part in their lives.

If they had a minimum of brains, they would realize that leaving the door ajar for an old relationship is just asking for trouble because the same reasons why a couple split apart are going to be the same for the future separations. People never learn and put the wrong priorities in life.

Some people do change and grow so just because it didn't work the first time doesn't mean it can't work again. Sometimes it does work out the next time.
