So do men really forget their exes or do they check up on them?

When it comes to this topic I either hear men say that men usually forget their exes and then I hear others say that men will always continue to check up on you through social media and what not. This also goes for friends with benefits etc.

I check up on mine from time to time. The one kinda hates me, and things ended with the other one on a weird note, but I don't have any animosity towards either of them. I bought, read, and reviewed a book that the second ex wrote. I was impressed and gave her a good review.

For me it depends on the type of relationship we had and how things ended. If she was toxic then I have no intention of checking back in on her. If she helped build me as a man then yes ill check back in from time to time tk see how her life is

Basically some women impact a man enough that even after they are through he still wants to check in and see how she's doing. Its not a "maybe she wants me back" thing but more of a "I have great respect for her" kind of thing.

Funny thing my ex checked up on me a couple of months ago and he made up a lie so I would respond to his message and I did cause his lie sounded serious but I got all dolled up and said lets talk about it over coffee. Cause you know its the ex of course you have to flaunt it and kill it cause women are just that special but anyways thats besides the point. We went for coffee and then he actually attempted a move on me and I thought to myself wait a minute this doesn't feel right then it hit me. He's desperate. That's where I was like sorry buddy but you're my ex for a reason. All we can really be now is friends and nothing more. Thanks for the offer though. I mean I could do better but thanks. His jaw just dropped. He did not want to be sitting at that table. Then I'm like shall we head out I have some errands I have to run. Anyways now that I read your explanation as to why he checked up on me I'm like omg this guy is right. He knows what he is talking about. For the girl asking a question about this you should do the same thing I did. You'll actually see exactly why ex's do this. But be strong no matter what he says you hold your ground.

I think I made the right decision cause me and him broke up 1 or 2 years ago and I was definetly over him but the fact that he would make up a lie to get me to just meet him for coffee and I completely reject him that makes me a dangerous woman and courageous and come to think of it why should we fear meeting an ex if we are completely over them? This made me realize that all I was fearing was falling victim but infact I gained self confidence and self belief from this experience because I faced my fear. I think this woman is asking the same thing. Should I face my fear or should I let my ex have the best of me. I think she should be tough grow a pair on her chest and show him where he stands like I did. If she doesn't have the courage and strength to do so then maybe she's not completely over him. Either way it's her decision and she needs to think it through. By the way his email was on my spam folder I check it cause it's usually where I send my flyers and stuff I subscribe to.

And you're not getting it either. He lied to me about something serious in order to get me to respond. I couldn't avoid the reason that he provided in his lie because it would cause bigger problems for me in the future. If you had read my story you would have read the part where I said he lied to get me to meet him so that It would gice him the chance to make a move. I was obligated to go but when I got there he told me he lied because he knew I wouldn't respond otherwise. Do you see why I replied? I can't give you the exact details cause the matter is personal but just so that you understand the answer to the question of why that you're asking.
