What does it mean when a guy says their friend is an idiot? Does it mean they’re a jerk? Or just an actual idiot? Or both?

Usually it’s just joking. A lot of times we talk shit about each other but we don’t really mean it. At times a friend could be an idiot for certain things, but overall not a complete idiot. That’s the difference between men, we talk shit to each other, pick on each other. That’s usually how we express feelings. Women tend to take literally if her friend calls her an idiot. Women don’t know how to joke around the way men do. I had a lot of friends in the Marine Corps who did stupid things, acted like idiots but they were the best friends I e ever had who I could count on to be there for me. Especially in survival situations. I even acted like an idiot at times.
