I'm meeting my mans friends and I want to wear a cute fit. I know im not gonna dress slutty but wanted to dress cute for myself as I always want to look good. My man wants me to wear an "abaya." We're going to this festival where sometimes guys will scout for girls vice versa. He said he doesn't want anyone looking at me. Is that normal?

There is some questionable behavior on both ends number one I understand wanting to look good to a extent but…. I have to wonder what the deeper intentions are behind it.

As far as wanting to you to cover up like a Muslim woman that’s strange too. I understand not wanting a woman who dresses slutty all the time but being overly worried about someone else looking… Look if someone’s going to cheat they’re going to cheat so that comes down to trust as well as control.

If I was so worried about someone looking at my girl then I would have to be worried she would cheat and break it off immediately. Once trust is gone it’s gone. Insecurities lead to deeper problems.

It can lead to abuse as well as a lot of times someone too worried about cheating is someone whose cheating themselves. Narcissists have double standards and are hypocrites as well as project who they are.

I’m not sure if it’s normal. Some men may be like that for reasons such as being cheated on. An insecurity. We all have insecurities, some bigger than others. But rather than look at that as a red flag right from the start, ask why. Try to get a better understanding of why. I mean if you love him, care about him, wouldn’t you be willing to calm him, reassure him in this insecurity as minor or major as you may think it is. Has he ever given other reasons to think he’s just a control freak? A lot of women have had a dream where their man cheated on him. Then they wake up mad at him, insecure, scared, anxious, whatever the feeling might be. Some people especially men would say that’s just stupid, nonsense. But would t you want him to do whatever he can that’s w in reason to ease those fears in you. Even if he thinks it’s corny or gay. I mean it has to be w in reason obviously. How long have you two been dating? This festival you speak of. Is what he saying true?

been dating 8 months but was talking 3 months before that too. he broke things off last year for 3-4 months till he slid in my dm's. festival he went to I've never been. he went last year when we were just "talking." and he broke up our talking stage with me a couple weeks after going there. his friend on the phone was like oh yeah last year u were a bachelor going there. but to me I thought we were dating after the 3 months :(

I see. So the crazy thing is he may be projecting these thoughts on you cause if he went there last year as a bachelor he was probably doing what he fears other men would do to you. So in this case I wouldn’t think he’d have much of a say. I could understand if it was an insecurity where an ex cheated on him. Especially if you’re really cute, stacked like a curvy road. I could see how he’d be insecure if other men tried to take you from him if something like that in the past happened. I’m wondering if he broke it off w you at that time knowing he was going there. That way he was free to try to pick up on women.

right thats exactly what I was thinking. I'm hot but im also long distance. I'm from a smaller town than him. This festival is in his city so I feel like he prob went realizing there were so many girls and thinking he'd just get with one of them. But then nothing worked out or something. That's just my random guess.

I don't know Arab or Middle Eastern culture too well, but here in the West they would call that controlling.. Nothing wrong with him wanting to be cautious and preferring a more modest dress out of you, but he doesn't need to do all that..
