I suggest you ask him to be specific about what wasn't good about it and tell him what wasn't good about if from your point of view. I'd also ask him about wanting to have a kid and if it means he wants to marry you.

He never told me what wasn’t good about it he just said it wasn’t good and he has mentioned that he wants kids with me and will stick around but he did bring up long term commitment with me
