Guy's Behavior

My guy friend and I haven't spoken for almost a year and we were very close?

I see him and he apologizes for unintentionally ruining our friendship. Apparently he didn't know I was upset over this thing until our mutual friend told him.

He claims we always get into our little arguments and he thought this to be one of them. Despite it lasting months.

Then he wants to make it up to me. Which gives empty promises because that's what he would always say.

Am I being extra for thinking he's a bad friend.
