My ex-friend is trying to ruin my chances with my crush. What should I do?

I've liked him forever, and my then bestfriend was the only person I told every detail of my (pathetic) love life to. He acted like he might like me back, but until a month ago, he had a girlfriend. After the breakup, he stopped hiding his feelings for me, and I thought I had a chance. I spent pretty much 24/7 with my then best friend, but about 2 weeks ago, she got jealous of another girl I was talking to at a restuarant and left without telling anyone. She fricken disappeared, and I thought she was kidnapped! Needless to say, I cut her off (don't need that kind of immaturity; we're almost 17 for Christ's sake) and we haven't spoken since. Well, mid last week, my crush became distant out of nowhere. All progress vanished in one day. We were like strangers again. Something happened. Today, I found out from other friends and my ex-friend herself that she's been spreading lies about me. My crush isn't petty enough to get into rumors, so whatever she did, it must've been sneaky and good. She's always been the jealous and immature type, but I didn't think she'd do this. TBH, me and many others question if she's a lesbian and this is her retaliation for me nearly getting a relationship (with a guy!) Either way, she's somehow sabotaging my chances with my crush. What do I do?

Tell your crush not to listen to her and that she is telling her lies. For everyone else? I wouldn't worry about it, kinda sorda my ex (Long story) started spreading rumors that i called her a slut. I didn't and then on top of it it is just making her look bad. I didn't even flinch i just had a lot of people come up to se asking if it was true. I just told them the truth and what happened and why she was doing it. But i would worry about your ex telling your crush lies.

I'm not really concerned about other people. Just him. How do I bring the subject up? We only see each other in class and the halls. There isn't much time to pull him to the side and say something.

Bring it up by saying "Hey has {EX'S NAME} been saying crap about me?" and go from there. If he says yeah then say "alright thats what i thought. Just dont believe him he's full of shit"

or something similar to that

Wait it out she would have to be crazy to keep this up long term if she is which I think is unlikely you could file for stalking charges and or contact the mental health department

I don't know that she's a lesbian. Just judging from the way she acted about him even before the fall out makes it a safe guess. I'm not dating him yet, anyway. I had a chance before this, and who knows, I might yet if this blows over.
