I’m so confused? He kept staring at me but then suddenly stopped, why?

There’s this guy in my lecture, and he would always stare at me.

We repeatedly made eye contact during lectures, he turned around to look at me multiple times, tried to catch my eye multiple times, done a double take when I looked at him, stared at my lips, stared at me when I’m not looking - basically shown that he’s attracted to me.

I’m bad at holding eye contact but during those lecture I repeatedly did look at him too and he’s caught me staring before.

However, we had a 2-3 month break, and on the first day back we made eye contact again, and when I turned around he was still staring, so I thought ok we both still feel it. But then the next week, he’s literally ignoring my entire existence.

I’m in his class, and I sit on the table infront of his and we face eachother, but he did not look around at all and didn’t even notice me, didn’t even look at me. I thought maybe he really didn’t know I was there because he did seem focused on class, but the next time we had that class, he looked around the class but not my table. And also we made eye contact for a slight second - so i know that he did see me then. But even after that - nothing.

Did he lose interest? Why is he ignoring me? Its like he genuinely doesn’t care anymore, makes me feel like all that lead up to nothing. This is making me so confused and I feel hurt.
