Why do men not make eye contact when talking? They are always looking else where.

Looking at eyes can be distracting from the point you're trying to make. If they're looking elsewhere, have a lazy eye, or you don't want to come off as creepy then you don't need to look into their eyes as their mouth, hair, nose etc., are all there to deflect you off your train of thought

There’s a number of reasons for this. One being shy. It could also be that he’s nervous. It could also be seen as disrespectful on some cultures. It could also depending on what they’re talking about. If he cheated on her he might be embarrassed, sad, sorry, etc, etc, etc. There’s a lot of reasons. Maybe the person has a goofy looking face so you don’t look to avoid laughing. It’s sad but that has happened before w people.

Probably because you're 26 and direct eye contact could very easily be misconstrued as flirting. And if you're under 18 and he's over 30 that's a real problem for both of you.

@EmmiL It has been my experience in my life, that it IS a gender issue, and men seem somewhat cowardly to look others in the eye when shaking hands or on any introduction. Women seem to be more open to look in the eye... That is MY experience. Maybe not YOURS.
