Why would guy coworker get jealous of a girl talking to another guy?

He shows signs of being attractive to a girl,, but he knows she likes him, yet he doesn’t do anything about it. It’s been going on several months.

However when she talks to another guy colleague (who she is friends with), he gets jealous and gives her the cold treatment.

Why is he even bothered? Why does he blow hot and cold?

Some people just like to delay accepting the fact they like you back to see how serious you might be, jealous because they do like you back and can't let someone else have the same attention they have.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I find it kind of crazy like when it happened, he ignores my messages and didn’t respond to catching up, like I get the opinion he’s really angry and therefore cuts contact. It’s happened a few times.

When you say serious, you mean he wants to know how serious I am? Because he is interested? He behaviour is so hot and cold
