How long is actually too long for a guy to message a girl if he actually cares?

There has been a lot flirting with a guy so much so it’s kind of obvious he likes me.

i messaged him yesterday to say i think we need to talk in person, but I don’t want to scary him away. I just want to be a bit more up front about what we want etc.,

He hasn’t responded as yet, but how long do you a normal for a guy to respond before you think he’s not really interested? I can see he’s read the message.

The wait is driving me insane. It’s like I just want to know either way.

people are never too busy to respond at least once a day. They might decide not to, but that's a conscious decision.

I would give up after 2 days of no contact , I waited 3 days or more on a guy before and it wasn’t worth it.
