Why would a guy stare/lock eyes with a girl but then ignore her?

Maybe he's looking for a CLEAR sign she is interested. If it's you, all you need to do is go up to him and say "why don't you speak to her?", a normal response from him would be, "Who?", to which you reply "Me" then the ice is broken and either the icks get out and spoil everything or you scare him off because he's not looking at you he's daydreaming about your sweater/Tshirt/hair/necklace or whatever

Yes we kind of lock with each other, can be even we are sitting in a friends group, when not talking to each other, it’s kind we cannot help but gaze lock into another’s eyes, it’s not uncomfortable though. It’s nice! His looks into my eyes quite deeply and like his go a little moist but he keeps doing it.

Chances are high these scenarios are only in your head and the guy is just a regular guy going about his day and not giving you any second thought.

Thanks, I know what you mean, but it’s quite obvious though, like in a way I’ve never experienced with a guy. He’ll do in when we’re in a group of friends, when we’re not talking to each other- he’ll just stare for quite a while, kind of like we are entranced by one another, it’s not awkward though, it’s almost like our eyes moist up because it’s intense though ha.

Her personality will only come into question if this guy has seen the girl interact with others from a vicinity. In that case it would make sense to say that he does not like personality but only her looks.

Good question, in the situation of him not knowing or having seen her personality then for him not approaching the woman can only be limited to very few reasons. Some of them are:

1. Either he has too much pride

2. He is genuinely, typically shy so that means he can look at the woman but can never have enough confidence to make the move.

3. Which is related to point 2, it is possible he gets intimidated of the woman and have self doubts that how can this woman like me when there are so many guys around who whom she might have interest in.

Please note a combination of all the 3 points above are not possible. Why? The reason is contrasting personality traits and through process. If the guy has too much pride then it means he does not get intimidated with women, it also means he has confidence and so he believes he can get any woman so won't waste time on a woman he does think is worth it.

However, for points 2 and 3 applies only to a typical shy guy who lacks confidence and belief in himself as far the world of dating is concerned.

For what feels like an eternity, like 30 secs or more, it’s intense, but it’s like he gets lost in my eyes.
