Does he like me back?

I have this friend, and we started actually talking and hanging out a few weeks ago. He invited me over to his house to play card games together and we play video games almost every night after work. On our days off we play video games all day until we go to bed, and repeat. He sends me good morning and goodnight sleep well texts and keeps me updated about his day. The only thing that puts me off is whenever he is drunk he says "I don't really care about anything or no one, just myself and my own life." And all this other weird stuff, but at the same time he goes and subtly teases me makes it a point to keep our conversations going like he doesn't want me to stop replying to him. My friends tell me he likes me, since we are all mutual friends and he doesn't talk to them as much as me. He also keeps saying how I can come over and play more video games at his house one of these days. I also think he knows I like him, cause I have hinted at it and he got the hint but I don't know if he is choosing not to say anything or waiting for me to actually say it. He also seems very 'shy' (not the word but close enough) and doesn't really like to approach me when there is other people around in real life, which contradicts his online persona but I don't know.

I'm looking for serious answers not like "If you don't know he probably doesn't" I get you think that but I am as dense and clueless as a plastic ball. So whatever advise or comments you got to help out are greatly appreciated!
