Why would a guy never mention his girlfriend?

I Started a job as a car photographer about 7 weeks ago and work closely with a guy who’s has been such a god send with helping me when I don’t know something to do with a car. We have good vibe etc never really been to flirty but friendly. I show TikTok’s we talk about weekends plans etc. but he has a girlfriend and never mentions her ever. He will say il doing something this weekend but be very vague I don’t understand why.

You don’t just think it’s a tad bit weird that we have conversations where you mention you have girlfriend and he hasn’t? I mean I ask him about his plans and he always vague but with the other guys he’s not.

I’ll say this, none of us are there to see how these interactions go down between you two so if you genuinely think he’s being shady or withholding the truth to appeal to you then who knows, maybe his is secretly a low down dirty dog. But I like giving people benefit of the doubt until they don’t deserve it, especially when I’m first meeting them. You and this guy are relatively new to each other, so it make sense that he isn’t sharing his personal life just yet. You say he talks about his girlfriend with the other guys at work but those men aren’t new to him, and they were all talking about their partners in context.

You and him aren’t exactly having discussions that lead to him bringing up his girlfriend. Like asking about his plans for the weekend, what if he just doesn’t really have any or he’s not hanging out with her? Being in a relationship does not mean always having plans and things to do, most of the time my fiancé and I just spitball the weekends or free time unless there’s something very specific we have to do. He also works with several women, he doesn’t bring me up and tbh I don’t care. We don’t have trust issues, those women aren’t my concern and our relationship isn’t their business.

No it’s okay I completely get where you’re coming from. I think I just misunderstood the situation I work in dominated male environment and I’m unsure how to take anyone because I’m the only girl working there.

Only time will tell if you misunderstood and who knows, maybe you didn’t, especially once we take into consideration that you’re the only woman in a male dominated space. There’s also the potential that he may not have an actual girlfriend and maybe those coworkers were just teasing him about a woman they know he’s dating. In any case though, I’d do my best to maintain simple status quo with him, not flirting or any of that. As you can see, men gossip too, like they know each others love lives and it’s casual work chat. You don’t want to be thrown into that conversation, I think it would mess with the respect and level of professionalism that these men have towards you and instead turn you into some attention seeking woman that all the dudes flirt with. As women in those spaces it’s so common for us not to be taken seriously, not to receive the same treatment as a male employee. It’s not a good time.

Yeah just some men banter lol. But the energy between us can get weird like awkward then it’s goes to us vibing I’m just hoping he’s not mentioned by purpose. I would hate that.
