I just had a guy ask why would a 19 year old want a 38 year old guy? When teen boys want older women all the time and people accept it and say its normal.
Its not really different for girls, its common for young women to find older guys attractive, even i if they are their dads age. Biologically it make sense too, yet people act like the girls have some mental problems.
Because most people in general are judgmental and hypocritical people that assume they are always right , when they actually don’t know shit , Guys’ and Girls’ fall for each other all The time because of attractiveness and chemistry and connection with each other , not because of their age. Meeting a beautiful girl out in public , if I find her attractive and she finds Me attractive and her and I have good chemistry and connection with each other , my intentions is to get to know her more and more with the intentions of possibly dating her. Women are the most critical of other women. One moment a young woman can be viewed as intellectually beyond her years, keen, and all that jazz. However, the moment she steps out of some norm, her mindset and maturity and all that falls into question by other women. What strikes me is the collective of women in their respective area of buzzing about will claim themselves the better and smarter between the sexes right up to the point where one of the members of the sisterhood decides to go her own way in love or adulthood path that is deemed I suppose, taboo to their bee hive queen (s). Both the guy and the girl who want EXTREMELY OLDER partners are compensating for mommy/daddy issues. No, biologically it doesn't make sense. There's no reason (going by natural fertility-related attraction) that a young person would want a MUCH OLDER person.
You can sleep with younger people (tho even that seems weird when you think about you are old enough to be their parent) but to want to date and start a life with someone young enough to be your child is weird as fuck for both genders.

Because large age gaps usually don't work out too well in the end. It is possible, but most of the time it won't work out. And that's regardless of the sex of the two people and/or if it's reversed or not.
With 19 and 38 the 38 year old is quite literally old enough to be the 19 year old's parent. A very young parent (19 year old parent), but still old enough to be a parent regardless. When the 19 year old was just born the 38 year old would have finished high school and been in college. And in the present day the 38 year old is old enough to have been married and divorced several times, old enough to have multiple children, old enough to own their own house, etc. While the 19 year old was in high school only a few years back and isn't even old enough to drink.
So the (probably correct) assumption would be that the 19 year old is being groomed/manipulated by the 38 year old, or that the 38 year old is just so immature that no one around their own age wants them.

And the whole time I would wonder "what is so wrong with the older person that no one else their own age wants them? Why are they dating someone who is a borderline child compared to them? Is there grooming or manipulation going on? Are they taking advantage of how naive and inexperienced the younger person is? Etc."
Now, if the younger person is at least 30 and up then I basically say anything goes. A 30 year old should be old enough to know what they want by now and have enough life experience to not be manipulated that way. A 30 year old could date an 100 year old for all I care. I might think it's strange, but it's not wrong since they're both EXPERIENCED adults.
But people in their late teens and early 20s are basically still children as far as the "adult world" goes. They may legally be adults but have no experience in the adult world. Most of them not even done with college, and some even possibly still in high school if they got held back or whatever.
Hardly a unbiased opinion here considering my girlfriend is 20 years younger than me and I'm in my late 50s. But the woman she was at 19 when I was 39 wouldn't have been attractive to me. My ex wife cheated on me and is now marrying that guy. They have been together for 10 years. We have only been divorced 8... He is 10 years younger than her. She is 56 and he is 46 now. Individual situations are always case by case. They seem happy. I am happy really don't see much difference.
There's nothing wrong with wanting an older, more experienced and more stable (economically and emotionally) person. Some women prefer older men and some men prefer older women.

They do it because they're set in their ways and have zero justification because they see people in age brackets that these days end mostly in splits while established and settled men are people who can provide the support and stability a lot of young women WANT and many NEED because they'd otherwise jump from pillar to post in order to "try out the candy shop" of men around her who aren't stable or interested in settling down.

It's jealousy.. Women have a shelf life. Men do too, but it's far longer than women's. Where men stay potent until they die, women lose most of their fertility in their 20's and 40's. So it's normal for a man in his thirties, or even older to want a fertile young woman.
