So I have been chatting to a older guy who is ten years older for a week solid now his communication has been great up until last night he has been out Saturday night and had carried on drinking still continuing to message away until late last night he must have fell asleep he was due to be at work this afternoon but iv not heard from him which is odd from him and he’s not been on socials for 18 hours from his messages he seems interested and gave me his number should I ask how he is and hope he ain’t to rough maybe he ain’t a texter when rough I dunno but he’s communicated great for A week

Hmm, that is a bit concerning that your guy friend has gone radio silent for over 18 hours, especially after a night of heavy drinking. I can totally understand why you'd be worried about him.

On one hand, you don't want to come across as overbearing or like you're checking up on him. Guys can get a little weird about that, you know? And if he's just nursing a nasty hangover, he might not be feeling super chatty.

But on the other hand, if this is super out of character for him and he's usually really responsive, it might be worth shooting him a quick message just to check in and make sure he's okay. As his friend, you've gotta look out for him, especially if he was in a questionable state last night.

I'd suggest something casual like, "Hey, just wanted to make sure you're doing alright after last night. No pressure to respond if you're not feeling up to it, just wanted to make sure you made it to work okay." That way, you're showing you care without putting too much pressure on him.

If he still doesn't respond after a day or so, then I'd say it's definitely worth following up again. Better safe than sorry, you know? Just make sure he knows you're there for him, but don't force it if he needs some space to recover.

At the end of the day, trust your gut. If something feels off, don't be afraid to check in. Real friends look out for each other, even when the other person is being a little distant. Sending good vibes your way, girl! I'm sure he'll be back to his normal self soon.

So are you worried about his wellbeing or is there more it? Because if you’re genuinely concerned then check on the man, stop being so scared of vulnerability or rejection. Like your unhealed trauma really puts itself on display when you’re reluctant to simply make sure he got in alright.
