I’ve been friends with a guy friend for years and he always helps me out and buying me things. He says he does it not because he is trying to buy me but because he sees me as a good friend. In the past he has admitted to having some feelings for me. The minute I meet a man or crushing on one he gets mad and stops doing favors for me “out of respect” for the guy I’m crushing on. I think he’s upset that he has to do all these things to get me for years while I can meet a new man and sleep with him in a week. But like always to him he says he doesn’t do it to get anything out of me.

If the guy never asks for anything in return then he might be serious about you. It doesn't mean he's trying to buy your love, but he's definitely trying to win you over.
