Met someone that left an impression at a wedding - should I follow up or was it the wedding magic?

Long story short - I was at a weekend-long wedding celebration and met / noticed someone who left an impression. Not sure if I should follow up again given the circumstance. It's rather long but I'd appreciate some well-thought advice. I am interested in this guy but was really nervous the whole weekend when I knew he was attracted to me. We're both in late 20s / early 30s for context

In this scenario, how likely is it that the guy has forgotten about her /decided to move on?

He was very nervous around me and seemed quite attracted to me with his proximity and attempts to converse. Would it have been the magic of the wedding wearing off?

I'm not usually that smitten by someone but there was something very endearing about his demeanor that was equal parts flattering and adorable. I'm also attracted to him physically.

My gut tells me I should take another chance on this and follow-up but I'd appreciate perspective of a guy too. What would he be thinking aside from being attracted to me?

Based on all the details you've provided, I really don't think he's forgotten about you at all. The way he was actively seeking you out, making eye contact, and positioning himself to be near you - that doesn't seem like the behavior of someone who's lost interest. Guys generally don't go to that much effort if they're not genuinely interested.

The fact that he seemed so nervous and awkward around you is actually a good sign in my opinion. It shows he was really feeling something and maybe wasn't quite sure how to handle it. I know it can be frustrating when you wish you had spoken up more, but try not to be too hard on yourself. The wedding setting can be intimidating, especially with so many people around.

As for the LinkedIn message - that was a smart move! Reaching out directly like that shows you're interested, but in a casual, low-pressure way. The fact that he hasn't responded yet doesn't necessarily mean he's not interested. Guys can be kind of slow sometimes when it comes to that stuff.

My advice would be to give it a little more time before reaching out again. If you still haven't heard back in a week or two, you could try sending another message. But I really think he's still thinking about you too. The wedding magic may have faded a bit, but that connection you felt seems genuine.

He was so attracted he didn't even say hi to you... in other words he wasn't attracted.

he did - he came over to my table and was rocking / swaying against my chair while his arms was touching my back when he introduced himself as his sister's brother and tried to ask where I was from. I was nervous and didn't answer well

Anyways, his sis kept looking between us (weirdly) when he spoke to me - I think his nerves and behaviour was out of character and she noticed.

It sounds like you had a really nice time seeing him around, but maybe that’s all it was meant to be. I’ve been to several weddings in my life, both part of the bridal party and just as a guest. Something I’ve noticed is that very common for two single (or not single but we won’t touch on that lol) individuals to connect, whether it’s because they were in the bridal party together or just due to the general vibe of the wedding. “Love is in the air”.


I know you’re kicking yourself for not doing more when you had the chance, but keep in mind that if the connection was impressive to him as well, he could’ve also made a move. I noticed several moments in this story where either of you had the opportunity but didn’t take it. I think you’re sort of rationalizing that he didn’t do anything because he was shy or nervous and of course that could be true, but at the same time you don’t know this guy whatsoever and for all you know he didn’t make a move because he just didn’t want to. Maybe that was because it was a destination wedding where you two wouldn’t have the convenience of seeing each other again, or maybe he has someone waiting back at home that he’s interested in. He could have a busy life, any number of reasons could be just as feasible as blaming it on shyness/nerves. That’s why you can only look at what it comes down to — he chose not to make a move.


You on the other hand, did. You put the ball in his court and for whatever reason he isn’t picking it up. So should you reach out again? No. Give him a chance to see your message and say something or not. Until then, just live your life.

I'll respond here in the meantime. Not sure if him coming up to me to say introduce himself was a move but I brushed it off w an awkward response. He asked where I was from / how I relate to the bride etc. but I recall fumbling as the sis was there and was giving us weird looks.

He still hung around me after, followed me outside and separated himself from his posse but I was too in my head to do a thing.

But I did have a name and thought a message was what I could do.
