Have you ever been to a wedding where it was clear it wouldn't last?

Some years ago, my sister brought me as her "plus one" to a friend's wedding.
It was a disaster - the groom kept hitting on all the ladies present - including my sister - and the bride just ignored him and instead spent a lot of time chatting with the guest and talking about everything except the wedding - I remember she kept enquiring about my studies and what kind of career I would pick.
Plus, when they had to kiss, she jerked her head away and made him kiss her cheek.
Io and behold, my sister told me he friended her on Facebook yesterday and told her they are divorcing and that he needs "someone to talk with".
My sister kindly told him to f*ck off, as she's (happily) married, just had a baby and wants to be left in peace.

My best friend married the guy she'd been dating off and on since high school after like 10 years of this. During one of their break-ups, he started dating AND moved in with another man before they eventually broke it off and then the two of them got back together. I tried my absolute best to play that fine line between butting in to her life and explaining the realities of marrying someone like this who wasn't even sure of his own sexuality. Eventually I gave up and said, live your life and played supportive bridesmaid because she said she was happy and that they'd talked it over. I kid you not, after the wedding ALL of our mutual friends from high school came up to me and were asking if they thought their marriage would work out, half were mentioning that they thought he was gay or bisexual and if they thought this could work. Some wondered if I had tried to stop the wedding beforehand...I mean, it was clear to literally every single person, this was disaster. Sure enough, they broke it off a year later.

Out of the three that I didn't think would last, one divorced within the first 4 months. The other two couples are still together (unhappily).

I have not. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and wish the best for them. I can't say I haven't been burned before, though. There was one friend who I wrote a really nice card for and he fucking went and broke up with his bride. Made me want to stab his ass. Like "don't waste my time, dude."

Yes, I went to a friend's wedding and I was talking with him afterwards and he was telling me that if it didn't work out he was just going to get divorced. I think they were divorced in less than a year.

I generally try to avoid weddings because they almost never work out so i dont really support such nonsense. If its just a charade for the woman to wear a white dress its not real count me out. I bet on most relationships and marriages with my girlfriend and i have like a 90+% accuracy rate. The last wedding i went to i bet it would be a total shitshow and i was right. Super drama circumstances and divorce within 6 months. Called it.

I've only gone to close friends and family weddings where it usually worked out or lasted a very long time. I don’t go to school friends weddings. But I’ve seen plenty women got pregnant and a father was never in the picture. Lots of relationships that don’t last long. The worst is when there are young children involved during divorce.

I've been to one wedding in my lifetime, and I was assistant to the photographer. I have no recollection it seeming like it wouldn't last.

My dad pretty much was the only father figure my cusion had growing up and his wife and her family were so rude to my dad at the wedding and left him feel like a stranger at his own nephews wedding. It was all about her and her family and the wedding was crap. Me choking on the crap food was about the most exciting thing to happen that evening
