Where is the most unusual WEDDING LOCATION you ever attended?

My SO and I attended a wedding of some close friends on a cruise ship. The captain performed the ceremony in one of the ship's specialty restaurants. Immediate family and a few close friends were in attendance. It was explained that, so long as the ship is in international waters, the captain is legally authorized to marry people. Our group went on a cruise, and somewhere in the middle, the ceremony was performed.

The captain thing is a myth. They have to register for a licence to do that just like when people get married at hotels, castles, beaches etc. Because getting married at sea is so popular most cruise Captains register anyway but they could just as easily marry you in port.

I've only been to 3 one in a church, one hotel and a castle. I do know of one couple who married in their barn. Cheap skates.

The captain thing is not a myth. Just before the ceremony started, that captain called the bridge to confirm that the ship as in International waters. He told the couple that if they were still in coastal waters, he wouldn't be able to perform the ceremony. After the ceremony, in addition to the stanadrd marriage confirmation, the couple was given a map of where the ship was at the exact time they were married, showing them in international waters.

it was a secret wedding we were taken to in a decked out school bus which turned out to be in Montecito. they put us up in these glamourous tents on the beach that had been done up by the Ritz Carlton

I DJed a wedding at a NASCAR race one time, and another had their reception on a paddle wheel riverboat. I'd say that those were my most unusual weddings.

In the woods. It was at a Christian retreat camp. About 100 yards into the woods they had some rustic wooden benches made out of trees for seating.

On a boat in New York Harbor in front of the Statue of Liberty. The Captain of the boat performed the marriage.

My youngest sister and her husband got married on Halloween in the middle of a haunted house officiated by a one-legged/peg-legged Pirate!

I attended a wedding in a community centre once. It was Delulu but I guess they wanted to get married quick.

Nudist colony. Ev1 was naked. Yes even me. It was interesting. Laughed at people trying to hide their nakedness. Wasn't an option to be clothed.

My best friend got married at a Justice of the Peace. It was held in the guy's living room. It was weird.

I attended a wedding at a Nudist Beach in Florida. You did not have to be nude to attend, but the bride and groom were. About 1/2 the people there were nude including myself and the girl I took.
