Are the shoulder touches from your boss supposed to be friendly?

Hmm. How does your boss touch your shoulders? Both hands on either side? That's a no-no. Why is he even touching you? Have you been at t his job a long time? Is it a casual workplace where everyone is friendly and hugs, etc?

You are quite young and this might be him taking advantage BECAUSE you are a young worker.

If you do not like him touching you, set your boundaries NOW.

"Mr. Jones, I don't like being touched in a workplace environment. We are not family or close personal friends. I enjoy working here, but these are my personal boundaries. I hope you understand." Then smile and THANK HIM.

I am SURE he will be taken aback, and will stutter something like, "I'm so sorry. No offense intended." And he'll never do it again. I HOPE he isn't a serial offender, though. You might have to do a repeat. "Mr. Jones, I've told you, you cannot touch me in a friendly manner. I am employee, ONLY. I will not remind you about this again."

If he does it again, you'll need to look for another job. Keep your resume ready. I HOPE you can tame him into being ashamed. But there is the chance that this won't work. Write down dates and times that he's done this, too. Keep a record. You have told him to stop. If he doesn't, it IS harassment. Maybe he's an idiot. But maybe you'll be lucky.

For more context I asked him if I will be at the outside tables or inside with the others and he told me”we will be together” and touched my shoulder

He asked my age and told me his age and jokingly saying that he will hit me now I know he is flirting for sure and I like that he is interested in me

Enjoy it, but if you get involved and later it goes sour, you will lose a boyfriend AND your job at the same time.
