If I grew up with him why would he care about swearing in front of me?

So there’s this guy who’s been friends with my brother since they were around 7-8 and I was maybe 5-6 (for reference, we’re all in our early to mid 20’s now). This guy used to be over at our house with a couple other guys every weekend for years. At my brother’s wedding last week, he drunkenly swore in front of me and then apologized. I’ve known him all our lives so why would he care about swearing in front of me or think that I would care? It’s not like he’s never heard me swear. Then he didn’t want me to hear him drunkenly angrily rambling. I told my friend about this and she thinks he might have a soft spot for me or something but given that he was drunk I’m not sure it means anything.

Maybe he has matured enough to care about what you think of him. Or it could be the booze talking also. Do you want to be more than just "friends" with him?
