Why do women change hair colors and styles more than men?

I was talking with a group of friends and we noticed that women change their hairstyles much much for frequently than men usually. We also tend to color our hair much more often. Why is this? Is this societal expectations or is there something else going on? I know some men who have worn the same hair style for years. I know that some have baldness, but I am talking about the ones with hair. I have known a few guys that changed hair styles or even colored their hair but not nearly as often as women. Do guys just go with a style that they like, and go well it worked yesterday so it will work today. I am just interested in why these behaviors are like they are as general rule.

Hell yes lol, we're literally bombarded since infancy of societal expectations like this. We've been taught to reproduce behaviors produced by everyone around us. That's a necessary social conformity to ensure cooperation in this particularly competitive world of fauna & flora.

That's why I don't dye my hair, because I have been taught that it is a behavior for women. I don't see men doing it, generally, so it doesn't even come to my mind to dye them. You can see also how it is enforced by market, I have never seen the picture of a guy on a packaged product. Plus these products are located in the alley dedicated to women.

So, everything seems to compete to tell me one message, dying hair is for women.

And I could override the message sent to me, in theory, but how do I develop the incentive to do so? You see my point.

I can only speak for myself that I don't like my natural hair color, never have. I can ony tolerate it for a few weeks at the most.
