How does he feel about me?

So, I’ve been going to a döner restaurant for about a year. There’s a guy working there (about my age) who’s been noticeably nice to me from the start – he’s given me free simit sticks several times, always speaks with extra politeness and gentleness, raises his eyebrows when saying goodbye, and smiles politely.

Sometimes, though, he’s completely normal, just like with any other customer, especially when there are a lot of people around.

Last time, I ordered something, and he suddenly gave me two simit sticks “on the house” and waited for my reaction. I smiled at him, and he instantly smiled back – even though he hadn’t smiled at all during the rest of my visit. He also kept repeating the questions the other döner guy had already asked me even tho i heard the other guy.

We’re both Muslims, so it’s a bit more complicated.

Am I reading too much into this – or does he maybe actually like me?

Maybe the free stuff is bc he doesn't want it to get old so he gives it away to people he likes but the stuff he gave me wasn't that old it was lowkey warm
