So I been seeing this wonderful man for a month now. I thought it would be cute to surprise him with a cute boo basket date night under the stars for a small amount of time. Had my car set up romantic for us to enjoy the stars. He gets to my place hella late. I understood he was at a party with his friends and got food there and got high. He told me he gets paranoid when he's high. As I am driving he told me his mom if freaking out. I guess she was blowing up his phone. So he gets worried something is wrong and dont hate him and he will call or let me know whats going on. He is hoping her sister is okay. I offer to give him his gift. Before he goes. He insisted to see me Sunday as in today. He never texted me he got home or called. Weird. Because he's never done that. I was worried for his aunts safty and its not usual that his mom bugs him like that. Today I sent the normal good morning text. Then saw he read and ignored it. So I called and it went to voicemail. Its usually normal for him to put his phone on do not disturb when things get too much for him. So I texted to see if we are still on for tonight. I don't know what to do. He still has me on all socials.

Is this a guy who’s trying to get serious and vice versa? Has that already been established?

We agreed we are going to be just dating eachother but. We don't have a label yet. He just called and told me his aunt passed and he went camping to clear his head and he was finally able to get service

Ok that’s good! I was just trying to get an idea of where his head should be at. In this instance you could let it slide, sounds like a bummer situation. If I were you I’d for sure take note of this though and pay attention to if it happens again. I know he’s going through a hard time but I mean, he saw you trying to reach out, it would’ve taken no time to just be like ‘hey I’m not trying to ignore you or leave you hanging I’m just going through some stuff and I’ll fill you in soon’. It would’ve taken seconds and he already had his phone in his hand. That’s what people do when they care about someone or plan on building a future with them since one day they could also be family. It’s never ok to just go awol if you can help it.
