How do you feel when you get stood up?

We were just going as friends, and he texted me last night about the time to meet. I could have gotten a refund and slept in if I knew he wasn't coming. The phone is off and I can't reach him. I know he was out yesterday for Halloween, but he told me he'd let me know if he couldn't make it by the morning. I even asked him if he was sure because I didn't know how drunk he was going to get, so it sucks.

Depending on how much I spent on the ticket I may very well just go alone. Years ago I missed out on a one in a lifetime opportunity to see The Weeknd before he blew up at a small, intimate venue. My friend got absolutely trashed during our pregame and had to have her dad pick her up from the venue. I will always regret missing out on that concert because I was too uncomfortable doing things like that alone. So I don't know what you had tickets for but you may want to consider still going, even if not for long.


I would also use this situation as a learning experience, because now you know what type of person you’re dealing with and can avoid making plans like this in the future. Like if you know he’s going out the night before, and you have an idea of how drunk he gets then I’d say it’s fair to assume that he’ll be out of commission the next day. Yeah it’s frustrating, people need to learn how to manage their liquor and learn their tolerance, but it is what it is.
