If a guy really likes a girl will he confide in a close friend about her?

I mean in general if you really like a girl long term, but say it’s complicated would you talk to a close friend about her or bottle it up?

I try to have an awareness of the social network that I and any woman I'm dating live in. I also try respect other people's privacy. So my personal life is a closed book to my friends when it comes to any woman I'm seeing if those friends are in the same network / orbit as either one of us. Oh, they'll know we're dating or hanging out but, they get no details beyond superficial comments like "she's great". My first duty (IMHO) is to the woman I'm involved with, not entertaining my buddies or propagating rumors for other people's entertainment.

I wouldn't characterize it as "bottling it up". More like keeping it between me and the woman I'm involved with. That takes priority over buddies and strangers.

I almost bottle it all up. I've dropped a few hints that I have someone specific I mind, but the are completely ignorant for the most part. None of them would believe what has transpired between us.
