I asked a guy I know to name a houndour from pokemon after me for fun since he was offering to our group of people and he said I wasn’t allowed to have that one and that my name would be better suited for a more angelic and cuter pokemon. Was he patronizing me and should I be offended?

Yes, you are patronizing him and honestly, I don't believe that you are in the age group 25-29 but given the type of question, more in the age group 12-15.

If I want to be quite frank, this behavior of both of you is somewhat childish and not really adult like.

If you are offended by his suggestion, then you are going to have a pretty difficult life ahead of you because that kind of answer is pretty innocent compared to what life will throw at you.
