Why do guys lead girls on?

Ok so a guy and I had a bit of a thing anyway after several months he went hot and cold so I approached him and he said he liked me but he didn’t want to lead me on, but now he can barely acknowledge or say hi to me. I mean why does it literally have to be all or nothing? He acts like a stranger now and after everything I am pissed.

Surely it’s the decent thing to do is acknowledge someone you had a history with and the thing is the way he had been I wouldn’t want anything to do with him romantically after how he has been.

It's not leading you on if he's purposefully ignoring you and saying he don't want to lead you on, that's him saying stay away from me. At the same time he was trying to say by saying he liked you that you aren't the problem.
As in don't blame yourself but he ain't going to date you for whatever reason he has.

But I mean everything before that point Wayne leading on and then I confronted him and that’s what he said. I later found out he has a girlfriend.

Honestly doesn’t even really sound like he liked you as more then whatever you two had going on. He said that at first cause he didn’t want to make you mad. But now maybe instead of saying ok whatever man then moving on, maybe you’re still bothering him about this whole situation? He got what he wanted. Maybe not but regardless sounds like he’s moving on.

Did he find another girl? If he is hot and cold and is starting to not acknowledge you perhaps it is time to move on. How close were you? Sexually involved? A relationship?

Yep turns out he has a girlfriend that I didn’t know about. We were very close but not sexually involved. I am annoyed but even now he can’t even say hello and looks down when we past each other, he’s totally avoidant and he’s the one with the partner so figure

Only he knows the real reason, but my guess is he doesn’t have the balls to be honest with you and wants to avoid a conflict with you.
