Why would a guy want to keep talking through a 3rd party instead of the girl himself?

Spartan hit the nail on the head, this guy is immature and you shouldn’t entertain it. He should be able to communicate directly to you if he’s actually interested rather than having a middle man, and vice versa. I also think it’s a terrible idea to have outside parties so directly involved with what happens between you and someone else.

Shy or not, there’s no need for a 3rd party to play telephone between two adults. This isn’t elementary one of you should be able to speak up. If he’s “too shy” then you need to be the polar opposite otherwise nothing gets accomplished.
