The entire situation is a huge red flag and you would better be seeing it as well.

This guy is not reliable at all and dating someone with this kind of behavior is obviously not recommended because he is not likely to ever change and you will bear all the consequences for it.

I don't even know if he really had a mental breakdown but simply needed a break. Once the break over and knowing that you have a crush on him, he try to pull the same game again with you. This is obviously a scheme of his and I would not trust him with my feelings.

So its a guy who likes you but he's not in a stable position, so he's gonna have to deal with himself and then during the moments he feels good enough to try he tries. Realizes he wasn't actually there yet and then it happens all over again.

I relate pretty hard because you wanna push trough for someone. And when your dealing with a health issue it can sometimes fake that your ok and then you collapse unexpectedly. So from his point of view he genuinely believed he was alright again until he wasn't. He's not trying to be this way, he's just forced to be.
