I think this guy at work is cute but we work different shifts. We only see each other on Wednesdays for five minutes when our shifts overlap. This week he worked dayside shift so I’ve been seeing him more. He said hey to me the other day but not until he was walking past my desk and my desk colleague was on her break lol. About a month ago he came in after the work Christmas party to talk to his friends. I didn’t think he would talk to me but stopped by my desk and said hi and made small talk. Then he was like “well I’ve overstayed my welcome” and then he left. The next day he viewed my LinkedIn profile but didn’t add me. I went to the bar with friends and he was invited there and he was with his college roommate and didn’t try to talk to me. He talked to my other friend about work stuff because they have the same role. The other day my other friend came up to me and was like “have you talked to him yet?” As we were walking towards the back the guy and I made eye contact from the studio and he came out and awkwardly walked past while smiling and waving at us lol. by the time we walked around he’d already gone back to his desk.
I had to go near his desk to meet with our boss then as I was walking past I was like “hey Matt” and he was like “how are you” then I was at the front talking to the receptionist and my other male colleague and Matt took a different route to go to the bathroom and came out near us and said “hey”. After the bathroom he came back out and walked past us again and stopped in between me and the guy and tried to get his attention about football ( they’re kinda friends ) and the guy wasn’t paying attention and kept talking and Matt looked at me and gestured towards him smiled and laughed then back at me then awkwardly walked away.
When I was back at my desk I was talking to the male colleague again because we sit together and Matt came up to him to say bye and interrupted us while talking and shook his hand and then kinda awkwardly waved to me.

If the question is whether or not he’s into you, I personally don’t feel like what you’ve described here is enough to dictate that. I mean when I read through a lot of this, if I were to switch the roles from a male coworker to a female, none of it would be significant. He just sounds like a dude acknowledging you, maybe making some light conversation. It sounds like you’re over analyzing such simple exchanges and moments. This isn’t to say he couldn’t be interested, but something more “obvious” needs to happen, like openly flirting, asking for your number/social media, intentionally hovering around you specifically and not just winding up in your presence. Things like that.
Yeah, okay. So what. None of this means anything. What mixed signals are you talking about?
