Granted, I said no cause while I was physically attracted to them, their attitude or reputation prevented me from seeing them as trustworthy.
For them, I don't know that necessarily, they thought I liked them, more that they were used to their looks alone being enough, but with them, there were other considerations. Mainly one of them had a lot of friends who disliked me due to me not fitting in and being seen as weird.
I've been rejected plenty of times, although granted, I knew their interest for me was in question, hence I asked them out. I see now that I asked too soon and didn't let them get to know me first.
Other times when I waited and got to know her first, that's where success came. I think with men, it's more a specific belief that a particular person likes us back.
With girls, it's more a general belief that any man they ask will say yes when that attitude alone makes a lot of men like myself feel repulsed, no matter how good she looks.
And also, a girl with two ponytails, a pretty smile and overalls is 100 times more adorable than any fancy dress and heels. Just my opinion00 Reply

5 moI genuinely think it depends I’ve seen women also completely misread signals or become friend zoned.
Here is the issue…. People tend to project their way of thinking on others. So someone may just project if they think they’re the most handsome dude alive that every woman’s attracted. A man who has self esteem issues may project that a woman’s not interested when she in fact is.
Many people have self fulfilling prophecies and tend to just find reasons why someone likes them. Other times people are reading signals that for some people may be signs of attraction but for someone else it’s not. So some of these same men mistakenly believe that a woman who actually is into him, but he believes she isn’t.
If someone wants to believe something bad enough they will come up with reaosns.

Yes, it’s generally true, but context matters.
Studies suggest men are more likely to interpret friendliness, humor, or attention from women as romantic interest. Women can do the same, but research shows it happens less often.
It’s not about intelligence or awareness , it’s about social cues, expectations, and sometimes wishful thinking. Clear communication is the only way to avoid the misunderstanding.10 Reply

5 moNope. Women are more obsessed with relationships and feelings in general. Thus they are more likely looking to get into a relationship and as a result fantasize about relationships and form crushes (emotional bonding) and project those crushes onto the guys they fantasize about. Where as men typically just find women hot in the beginning, want to have sex with them, and over time develop feelings if things are going well over time and the girl is cool. Since many guys don't even get crushes, they are more likely to just ignore the entire emotional topic of crushes all together and it doesn't even cross their minds, and fantasize about sex and think women are down to fuck and be insensitive to the feelings they are developing and the crushes they are forming. This is why women get emotionally entangled in guys who really aren't all that into them and they feel like they get played or used.

Women have an emotional need to be seen, to be loved, to be valued, to attach, to feel special, to feel safe. Guys are more independent and less into all that shit.

There is even research on the topic dealing with attaching theory which time and time again show women attach early and men attach later in a relationship. Women being the weaker and more needy sex likely plays a role in all of that.
Anonymous(45 Plus)5 moNo I don’t think that’s true. The reason I say this is because when you look at the questions on here posted by women, there’s a lot of questions about what a man does. For instance. He opened the door for me does that mean he likes me. He said hi. He smiled. He got me a soda. He waved. He doesn’t normally come this way at my work I’ve noticed he’s doing it a lot more. Women tend to interpret everything a man does as if he likes her. He held the door open for me but doesn’t normally do that for other women. The list goes on about a lot of things men do that women ask what does this mean.
00 Reply826 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. You know I see so many times when a girl has the biggest crush on a guy and you know it not gonna work because you already know that he doesn't like her the same way
I've seen vice versa the same way. I couldn't guess who doesn't more often is probably a tie but i believe if you're a true friend that you should say something even though they're not going to believe you and you're going to be the bad guy , but still00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)5 moNo. If anything it's the opposite. Women think just because a guy says two words to her that he wants to crush puss. Meanwhile. Guys typically have no clue when a woman is remotely interested in him. And that's largely due to the fact that women typically make no alluding whatsoever to what she wants. If some guys didn't just decide she interested on his own sometimes men and women would never date.😆

5 moDifficult to say. Basically it comes down to perceived and acknowledged attractiveness. If a lot of people say you're beautiful and you're used to getting lots of attention and flirting, then automatically your number of people having a crush on you will be higher than average. People who do no get that kind of attention and compliments might perceive friendly behavior as flirting more quickly. So, if you ask me beauty outweighs gender with respect to this topic.

5 moYes, absolutely true 💯. I have no clue what these blue anons are talking about. People on this site seem to believe things that are the opposite of what reality is. All women have to do is smile, and some men will think that she likes him. Lmfao
00 Reply Yes because most of the time men do have a *crush*(not the term I would use, I prefer interest) where as many women want something else.
00 Replyyes, we don't get much attention from opposite sex as a general so even the lightest amounts gives high hopes.
00 Reply33.3K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No, absoutely not. This forum is full of evidence supporting this.
00 ReplyOf course. It's so rare that men get compliments for just existing that any positive interaction with a member of the opposite sex is seen as flirting.
00 ReplyFrom my personal experience no. although am pretty socially inept when it comes to women or people in general but I have never though that.

4 moI'd say men are probably the higher statistic on that
00 ReplyYes. Men don’t get flirted with or complemented. So when a girl does one or both of those, a guy will catch feelings.
00 ReplyYes I agree, men often misread or miss signals from women.

5 moYes because girls are oblivious. 10 years later "I had a crush on you in school it was so obvious" her: "tee hee, like really? "

Do you believe it’s true males are generally more likely than females to mistakenly believe a person from the opposite sex has a crush on them?
