As long as he's only joking. When I worked at Mellon bank, one of my bosses was a black woman slightly older than me and I did something teasingly to make her mad, she'd come back with, "I'll cut ya!! I'll cut ya bad!!' I knew she was just joking and would never do such a thing.
Ralph Cramdon used to always threaten his wife that he was gonna punch her so hard she'd go flying to the moon but, he never once actually hit her.

It depends on the tone and pattern.

A one-off obvious joke in a playful context is different from repeated “jokes” that make you uneasy. Humor shouldn’t make you feel threatened or small.

What matters is how it lands for you.
If it feels uncomfortable, say so and watch his reaction. A caring partner adjusts.

Rule of thumb:
Jokes about harm stop being jokes if they ignore your comfort.
