Was having drinks with a friend telling her tale of woe (guy showed up to something for a "just friends" person and she lost her shit). I was telling her I get it... same recently happened to me. An older lady (the proprietor's girlfriend) laughed at my friend and said, "Oh, dear don't be mad at him. Men like to test a woman a little. Your guy is just crazy for you and trying to make you jealous. Is he out of the picture yet?"

I thought it was strange of her to say. Why would a guy come to another girls' rescue knowing his person of interest is going to be there? Why care more about the "just friends" person than the person he wants to be with? Makes no sense.

I'm guessing my opinion is not going to be popular, but some men don't know they are messing with or trying to get a woman jealous. He's nice and friendly all the time flirty with everyone. It's just a woman playing tricks on her own mind. Making things up and getting upset for no reason.

Not all men do this, but some do. Not meaning anything by it. Or knowing they are doing anything.

Then there are the douchebags that do play games and that's messed up too.

A friend called me frantic... we had a similar sort of experience so I was sitting with her and listening to her mess at our fave restaurant. The owner's girlfriend (much older) overheard and chuckled at us, saying the guy was purposely just trying to get my friend jealous bc he's nuts about her.

It didn't make much sense to me, but it also hit kind of close to home so I thought to toss it out to G@G to see what the universe sent back as possible theories.

in my opinion, if he purposely showed up for a known bimbo he's a thoughtless dbag. But this older woman claims this is just a thing guys do, esp macho guys who want to show they can do wtf they want.
