What does it mean when a guy ask how you’re doing and where are you to your friend after being in no contact for a long time and haven’t even spoken?

There was this guy that I had tension with in school. I remember in 9th grade we would have a few interactions like for instance him and his friends would try to sit next to me in class but wouldn’t say anything and he would try to sit right besides me and I remember moving my shoe towards his and he didn’t move. also there was a time when I think he was deciding whether to sit with his friends or me, and I remember looking up at him, and he was looking at down at me and we made pretty long eye contact And then he decided to sit next to his friends and then every time not every time, but when I would pass the library, he would stare at me while I would pass by and later on I think in 10th grade there was another interaction. I joined track and he was there too and I remember this one interaction where I was stretching and I look behind me and him and his friend were smiling, and then later on we were in the cafeteria and I see smiling very big and I think he wanted me to make a move or something and then I remember being at a track meet and my mom was doing my hair and I was looking up to the sky and then I caught him staring at me while my mom was doing my hair. And then this happened the second time where I was walking past him and he was laying down on a mat at the track meet. That’s all I could remember
