Are emotionally intelligent men rare?

I feel like most men I meet are oblivious when it comes to emotional intelligence. Men with high IQ turn me on until I observe their social skills. I like a man to lead, but it's hard to do when his self-awareness and social skills are lower than my own.

Are my expectations too high? Or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Whether it is or not you have a problem with thinking it would be good if it wasn't that way. High EQ can in fact lead to being worse in social situations creating more social anxiety not less, to emotional burn out and other negatives.
Therefore meeting a guy with high EQ maybe not what you were looking for anyway.

I think you are looking for something defined in your own head that has nothing to do with high IQ or EQ and most people you meet are average as that's the point of average so I doubt you are meeting tons of High IQ guys anyway. Nvm high IQ and low EQ especially.
Just mistakenly thinking they're, same way if you found someone with High EQ it probably wouldn't fit what your image of that and you wouldn't notice they even were.

Another thing is EQ displayed by a man acts differently to the way it may do in a woman. Whether high or not.
But to answer your question more simply, yes the expectations are high and it's rarer because guys don't act the way you are wanting across the board even if they have high IQ pretty sure.

My experience tells me they are uncommon yep, which is explainable by culture and uprising trends. So I'd say your expectations are high. Plus you could totally spend a life time looking in the wrong places depending on what circles you have access to.

So not actually a guy who's emotionally intelligent. Just a guy who caters to your whims. Yeah, you're probably expecting too much. Guys give what you give. And only if you smart enough to pick those types of guys. Because not all guys gives. Just like not all women give.

No. It would be the opposite. An emotionally intelligent man with social skills can make good arguments too and persuade. Whereas a man who lacks this just defers to your judgment.

The short answer is no, they are not rare, but they may be harder to find in certain environments or age groups. High emotional intelligence EQ and high cognitive intelligence IQ are distinct traits that do not always overlap naturally, leading to the brilliant but oblivious archetype you've encountered. Your expectations are realistic, you may be looking in wrong places.

If he just provides money, he is more like a servant than a leader. Or a tyrant if he just makes decisions that benefit no one emotionally.

I imagine that they are. Men are taught to hide their emotions from an early age and behavior that shows emotion is discouraged.

His emotional IQ may be far higher than yours. He may not be oblivious. He may be choosing to not play with you. Yeah, that's a real thing.

Maybe. Some of those things aren't necessarily related. Guys can have self awareness and emotional intelligence, but it can seem like they have poor social skills.
