Why do people hate texting back promptly? ?

Currently I'm seeing a guy. He never replies back promptly. I'm always the one replying back promptly. I have spoken to him about it and he comes up with all sorts of excuses on why he can't reply on time. Getting him to reply back on time is like pulling teeth. One day, I stopped replying on time. I would take up to 6-10 hours to reply to a text. Then he asks
"where have you been?" then starts sending texts frantically trying to get a response from me.

Because believe it or not, it every person lives to be on their phone. We have lives. Especially men. A lot of men I know aren’t in their phones all the time. We don’t sit around anxiously sitting around waiting for someone to respond. If he’s older, chances are he doesn’t use the phone as much either. The other thing I will say as a man. A lot of times women ask the same question, asking why can’t he respond. It only takes a few seconds to respond. That may be true, but a lot of men know that one response leads to more messages w more responses to which they dont want to respond or be on their phone to begin with.

Some people have fuller lives than others.
Many people seem to think replying back quickly has negative connotations. Like maybe they’re desperate or they have no life, et cetera.
Some people just like playing games with other people’s feelings.
Make your thoughts and feelings known and perfectly clear. Then set boundaries. Stick to them or expect to get manipulated.

Having said that, some folks are ACTUALLY BUSY with their lives and can't just sit around texting you 24/7. In a healthy friendship/relationship of any sort both people communicate their ability/boundary and set realistic expectations for things like phone calls or correspondence.

They are doing things or with people that are a higher priority. If a guy is into you he will get back to you quickly unless he had a job where he can't get to his phone all the time, like a brain surgeon in surgery.
