Why do people rarely text back on time?

Like I met these guys at my job that said we’re playing basketball at a park today. Said they made a gc I said “oh I wasn’t added” “oh we’ll add you later” never did then I said last time I saw them and one guy said he’ll give me a ride because I don’t trust my car to get to point b safely since it’s kinda beat up a little. Not one person texts back for 8 hours and the one guy that did isn’t even going. But this is the first group of friends that have been like this and it’s the most annoying and kinda disrespectful thing since I text back as soon as I see it and they give it 8-9 hours when they’re on Instagram as my text is on delivered

Give them one more chance and if they still continue like this then find other friends who truly care about you. Life is too short to stick with toxic people.

Sometimes it's whether they like you or not. Some people do it just to make you go away, that's their way of indirectly telling you. It's a very childish way of communicating in my opinion.
