Hi all. I was seeing a guy for a month, met up 9–10 times, mostly at his place, outside or drove in his car. His ex cheated on him but he forgave her, then they broke up. He plays the guitar, I sing & we planned to perform together. Physical intimacy was minimal until the last two meetings. He’d previously dated a Tinder girl for a month but ended it because there was no “vibe” & she lied about not smoking.
He told me he liked me, found me attractive and wanted to kiss me, but I initially saw him as a friend and didn't initiate a kiss myself. Later I became attracted to him but didn’t initiate physical contact. He asked what I wanted, where this was leading, he was saying “decide, at worst our paths will part and I'll stop trying in this way” (like grabbing my hand, cuddling etc). He also offered me alcohol. He told me to think it over and that he didn't know how to act after the confession. We eventually kissed passionately (he initiated) and were affectionate (I stroked his hair & we cuddled) but didn’t have s. x, even though he tried (I stopped it because it felt awkward with his flatmate being in the other room) but he didn't know the reason. After that, he started rescheduling or canceling plans often. I often complained to him about my ex & even cried once. On the last date, he only hugged me and didn’t text much until the evening.
Yesterday evening he messaged me & offered to drive over to bring me my hat I had left at his place. He wanted to talk. He said he didn’t feel the vibe with me, that I was pretty, that we both liked music, that I was talented but “you see we’re not texting each other.” He also said “a girl who goes to the gym & works out a lot is probably more my type" (I didn't rlly go to the gym). He said we will both find someone for us. At the end, he said, “no hard feelings?” & hugged me. He didn’t even consider friendship. On his dating profile he claimed he was looking for something long or short-term. Why did he end it so abruptly?
