Do men maintain eye contact with women they don’t like while they’re talking to them especially if he’s younger than you?

Met this guy who is 4-5 years younger.. seems to be attentive and when he talks to me he holds eye contact with me and while talking he asked me “what do you call it?” Like he wanted to make sure he was making sense or something I don't know.. also while talking to others he still slanted himself and looked at me numerous times which made me feel included

I was always taught the 80/20 rule when speaking with others and would get slapped upside the head as a reminder. Eye contact during communication is normal.
