Why is this an excuse for rejection?

A guy said he’s not interested in me because he lives too far meanwhile he wanted to text me and talk to me. Why all of the sudden he said I’m not interested you are too far away as an excuse to not hook up or be my friend with benefits? Isn’t that weird how he wanted to text me but said sorry not interested you are too far away as an excuse?

You don’t feel the need to validate a “yes”, so NO shouldn’t be any different. You never have to agree with any man’s reason why he doesn’t want you, your only job is to accept it.

Maybe to get some attention. It is weird. Why dont you ask him? there's a couple of reasons in my head but I think if you hear it from him first then ask us maybe we can help. My other reason was maybe he wanted to play with your heart a little so he can see how much you like him... I don't know

I would think it’s a legitimate excuse. But there’s a chance too that he met someone else who is closer, maybe even better looking than you.
