Have you ever missed a cue that someone was trying to kiss you?

In a nutshell, A bunch of us were going to a comedy show organized by one of my friends. I met one of the guys for dinner beforehand -- my idea not his, so not "a date" to me on any level. It was freezing, so he got an uber... again, nothing crazy...

The night goes well. We're laughing our asses off and surrounded by people from church. We all took pics etc. and after a few of us took a walk to an after-party spot. Ofc *I* got in but the guys were told they could only come in with reservations. So I used the WC then headed back out to the guys. But a few of them were tired and went home and this one guy stayed to walk me home. We were walking but it was FREEZING. I shoved my hands in my pockets and he saw I was shivering so he put an arm around me. (He was SOO nice and warm I leaned into it instinctively. But we've been friends for such a long time now that I just didn't register it as anything more than concern.)

We ducked into a building lobby to stay warm and grab another uber, and I went home.

Next morning he asked if I was upset that we almost kissed.

And I had to confess that I didn't know what he was talking about. It was so... flattering but also awkward. I felt SO bad. :(

I've always been bad at reading signs of a guy-friend's interest. I genuinely just thought he was being kind bc it was so cold out.

What do y'all think?
