Not saying he will act on it but can a guy be intrigued by you, stare in your eyes without breaking eye contact.. or is it about validation even if she doesn’t give him any
827 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. To be intrigued is to be curious about someone or something. I can be intrigued by a bird I've never seen before. If you mean can he be romantically/sexually interested in someone other than his girlfriend, sure. Will he act on it? Not if he's committed to his partner

m 2 moTo me staring isn't a sign of romantic interest, more like a sign of cognitive lag, at least that's my experience with strangers stares lol. What constitutes being intrigued, to you, aside from stares?

Asker2 moHaving something in common/same background.. mystery.. a women who doesn’t fawn over you
- 2 mo
I haven't seen a girl fawning over me yet and I'm pretty sure I would find that irritating enough to flee the scene lol. Mystery is so subjective so it's hard to talk about that. Something in common, same background would intrigue me yes, whether or not I'm with my girl, but that's absolutely not a sign of romantic interest tot me, just interest
Asker2 moFor example.. I was distracted and quite sad after an ex made me feel like I was the gum at the bottom of his shoe… this guy I met at a store was nice. I didn’t pay much attention to him but I did notice how kind he was.
But he asked me what brought me here to this city and I told him I was an art teacher here for 2 years but now I’m pursuing nursing.. he said same.. He talked about his 180… he is also an self taught creative.. I actually had a degree in psychology and was a self taught artist who oil paints and draws… he’s a self taught cinematography who actually was self taught and majored in film production but is now pursuing aviation.. I told him that I actually went to an aerospace high school and learned to fly planes (Cessna 172) and learned about turbine engines and did like plane parts (rivets)
Asker2 moBut you’re right it doesn’t signify anything I was just asking I just felt seen by him when I was at my lowest that day and was looking to be seen. I actually wanted to hide and I was deep in my own thoughts… he was just nice to me and maybe he just tried to be nice for his ego or to be “liked” but I appreciate the effort and attentiveness. Whoever he’s with is lucky
Asker2 mo* I was NOT looking to be seen
- 2 mo
It does feel really nice to get this attention, given the context. I've experienced that a few times after breakups. I take it as the sign of hope it is, but no more. And honestly, there's a chance I'd actually look for being seen, when I'm down, it's more or less unconscious. Plus it doesn't harm anyone, in moderation
Also, from experience, I'm not setting a lot of restrictions about who I talk with, whatever gender and regardless of my status

1 moYes, absolutely.
Having a girlfriend doesn't suddenly make a man incapable of noticing or being intrigued by another person.
The important distinction is that attraction, curiosity, and commitment are not the same thing.
A guy can find someone fascinating, enjoy eye contact, and even think about them while still choosing to remain loyal to his relationship.
The mistake many people make is assuming interest automatically means intention.
Sometimes it does.
Sometimes it's simply curiosity, attraction, or admiration.
That's why I pay more attention to actions than eye contact.01 Reply
Asker1 moThat’s very true.. he didn’t actually want me
33.3K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Inrrigued is just a word salad term for attractive. People with SOs can find other people attractive. As for validation, who knows, does it matter?

Asker2 moYea I feel like if it’s for validation then it’s not genuine
Intriguing question, are you so intriguing to him that he's expressed this to you? And your intrigueness is it on a level leaving what he has for you?
Is this something more of a conversation or sexual?

2 moOh I think most guys can be intrigued by a pretty girl anytime lol

1 moYes. It happens.
He might even be thinking about you when he's with his girlfriend.
00 ReplyYes you can have attraction to anothe woman if your in relationship. You dont have to act on it but if it happens you can chalk it up to the animal instinct to mate with others.

Anonymous(25-29)2 moUnfortunately, yes it can happen. It happens with the other gender too.

As you're probably well aware, men that aren't loyal do exist xD so this really is a no brainer.

Asker2 moBut what’s the point if he has a girlfriend and can’t pursue
Asker2 moOr the looking while she’s not looking and when she catches him he doesn’t immediately look away
Asker2 mo@spartan55 they shouldn’t look at them in a way that signals something more
Asker2 mo@spartan55 so looking at a woman while she’s not looking and then continues to look at her when she catches you
- 2 mo
Sadly, I agree with @spartan55. This doesn’t mean much. And as long as they’re not openly staring at you in a predatory way, people have a right to look at whatever they want. Maybe he was just looking in your direction and you happened to be there.
- 2 mo
@spartan55 sorry lol. We often disagree, but this time we agree with you 100%.

I agree

But he was kind … tried to get me free art tickets and was just kind … you’re right it’s not romantic but he was just nice.. I guess I took the eye contact the wrong way- 2 mo
That was sweet of him. It’s possible he’s interested in you despite having a girlfriend, but it’s also possible he’s just being friendly. Either way, if he has a girlfriend you shouldn’t pursue him.
Asker2 moOh no, because I wouldn’t want a guy to cheat on me but no boundaries were crossed

That’s great. Hope we were able to help you.
